Cheferin: "Coronarivus will not deprive Liverpool of the championship"

In a statement to his country's media, UEFA President Alexander Cheferin confirmed that there would be a champion in England no matter what. Whether the year is over or not.


There is no possibility that Liverpool will lose the championship in the Premier League due to a crown. This was made clear in a statement to Slovenian media by UEFA President Alexander Cheferin.

Liverpool before the break were at +25 from the second Manchester City and needed two victories in the last nine games to win their first championship after thirty years.

"If the Premier League starts again, Liverpool are almost certain to win the title. Theoretically, nothing is over, but Liverpool are close. If the league does not start, we have to find a way to validate the score, to become champions. And "Again, I can't find a scenario where Liverpool won't win the league. I understand that people can be disappointed if it's done in an empty Anfield or in an office, but I think they will win the league one way or the other."

The Slovenian also stated that UEFA's goal is to complete all the championships, and that is why the news has been circulating since Monday that there is no final agreement with the federations on when the season will end.

Με δηλώσεις του σε μέσα ενημέρωσης της πατρίδας του ο πρόεδρος της UEFA Αλεξάντερ Τσέφεριν επιβεβαίωσε ότι θα υπάρξει πρωταθλητής στην Αγγλία ότι και να γίνει. Είτε ολοκληρωθεί η χρονιά είτε όχι. 

Πιθανότητα να χάσει το πρωτάθλημα η Λίβερπουλ στην Premier League λόγω κορωνοϊού δεν υπάρχει. Αυτό έκανε σαφές με δηλώσεις του σε μέσα ενημέρωσης της Σλοβενία ο πρόεδρος της UEFA Αλεξάντερ Τσέφεριν.

Η Λίβερπουλ προ διακοπής ήταν στο +25 από την δεύτερη Μάντσεστερ Σίτι και χρειαζόταν δύο νίκες στα τελευταία εννέα παιχνίδια για να κατακτήσει το πρώτο της πρωτάθλημα μετά από τριάντα χρόνια.

"Αν η Premier League αρχίσει ξανά η Λίβερπουλ είναι σχεδόν σίγουρο ότι θα κατακτήσει τον τίτλο. Θεωρητικά τίποτα δεν έχει τελειώσει αλλά η Λίβερπουλ είναι κοντά. Αν δεν αρχίσει το πρωτάθλημα πρέπει να βρούμε τρόπο να επικυρω΄σουμε την βαθμολογία, να αναδείξουμε πρωταθλητή. Και πάλι δεν μπορώ να βρω σενάριο που η Λίβερπουλ δεν θα κατακτήσει το πρωτάθλημα. Καταλαβαίνω ότι μπορεί να απογοητευθεί ο κόσμος αν γίνει σε άδειο Άνφιλντ ή σε ένα γραφείο αλλά πιστεύω ότι με τον έναν ή τον άλλο τρόπο θα πάρει το πρωτάθλημα" δήλωσε ο Τσέφεριν.

Ο Σλοβένος δήλωσε ακόμα ότι στόχος της UEFA είναι να ολοκληρωθούν όλα τα πρωταθλήματα άλλωστε για αυτό από την Δευτέρα κυκλοφορεί και η είδηση πως δεν υπάρχει οριστική συμφωνία με τις ομοσπονδίες για το πότε θα ολοκληρωθεί η σεζόν.
