Ο Μέτα Ουόρλντ Πις (aka Ρον Αρτέστ) εξέφρασε την προτίμησή το υόσον αφορά τις ομάδες που θα ήθελε να δει να κατακτούν κάποιον τίτλο, ωστόσο εξέφρασε τη βεβαιότητά του για τους Λος Άντζελες Λέικερς ενόψει της νέας σεζόν. 

Ο παλαίμαχος μπασκετμπολίστας έγραψε χαρακτηριστικά στο twitter ότι «στη ζωή μου θα ήθελα πολύ να δω τους Πέισερς να κατακτούν το πρωτάθλημα στο ΝΒΑ. Θα ήταν μια πολύ μεγάλη ανακούφιση για μένα. Αν τον κατακτήσουν οι Νικς θα είναι ένα παιδικό όνειρο που γίνεται πραγματικότητα. Όμως τη νέα σεζόν ο τίτλος θα πάρει στους Λέικερς».
