Πρώτοι σκόρερ για τους Βάσκους ήταν οι Μπομπουά και Σενγκέλια με 19 πόντους ο καθένας, με τον Γάλλο γκαρντ να είχε 6/8 τρίποντα και τον Γεωργιανό να μαζεύει 8 ριμπάουντ. Από την ομάδα του Γιασικεβίτσιους ξεχώρισε ο Γιανκούνας με 20 πόντους.
Από το ξεκίνημα της αναμέτρησης είχε η Μπασκόνια τον έλεγχο του ματς, έχοντας το προβάδισμα, το οποίο έφτασε στο +10 (11-21), με τη Ζαλγκίρις να κάνει ένα 4-0 στο τέλος του πρώτου δεκαλέπτου (15-21). Ίδια ήταν η εικόνα του ματς και στο τρίτο δεκάλεπτο, με την Μπασκόνια να φτάνει στο +26 (38-64). Από εκείνο το σημείο και έπειτα, η Ζαλγκίρις προσπάθησε να μπει στο παιχνίδι και με ένα επιμέρους 19-4(!), μείωσε σε 57-68, με τον Χουέρτας να διαμορφώνει στο τέλος το 57-70. Στην τέταρτη περίοδο, η ομάδα του Σάρας έβαλε… φωτιά στο ματς πλησιάζοντας στο -8 (68-76), ωστόσο οι φιλοξενούμενοι δεν πτοήθηκαν και κάνοντας νέα αντεπίθεση ξέφυγαν στο +19 (70-89), παίρνοντας τη νίκη με το τελικό 77-97.
